Why do I need it?

Sometimes you check your luggage with an airline or hotel only to find it damaged, lost or stolen, putting a damper on your trip. In an unfortunate situation like this, you can be reimbursed for the damage or replacement of your items.

What’s included?

Your baggage and personal items can be covered in the event of loss, theft or damage during your trip.

Lost or stolen personal items

Reimbursement of losses up to $1,000 per trip ($3,000 per family), up to a maximum of $300 for any one item or set of items.

Lost or stolen documents

Reimbursement of up to $250 towards the replacement costs for important documents, like your passport, travel visa and more.

Delayed baggage

Reimbursement of up to $400 for necessary toiletries and clothing if your checked bag is delayed for more than 12 hours.

    Emergency Medical Insurance

    Out-of-Province/Country Emergency Medical benefits are provided up to a maximum of $5,000,000 per insured person, per trip, for reasonable and customary costs incurred as a result of a medical emergency during your trip.

    Coverage is available for a single trip under the Per Trip Plan and for multiple trips during the year, eligible under the Multi-Trip Annual Plan.

    Trip Cancellation Insurance

    Trip Cancellation benefits reimburse the cost of non-refundable, prepaid travel arrangements up to the amount of the sum insured in the event of trip cancellation as a result of an insured risk that happens prior to your departure.

    Coverage is available for a single trip under a Per Trip Plan or for multiple trips during the year under a Multi-Trip Annual Plan. Coverage is available for purchase at various sum insured levels, up to a maximum of $10,000 per person / $20,000 per family. The sum insured level purchased will be shown in the Confirmation of Insurance issued to you upon enrollment.

    Trip Interruption Insurance

    If an insured risk occurs during your trip and causes you to interrupt your trip, Trip Interruption benefits can cover the eligible costs of transportation to your next destination or early return to your departure point. If an insured risk occurs during your trip and results in your being delayed from returning to your departure point beyond your scheduled return date, certain eligible costs associated with this trip delay can be covered.

    Coverage is available for a single trip under a Per Trip Plan or for multiple trips during the year under a Multi-Trip Annual Plan. Coverage is available for purchase at various sum insured levels, up to a maximum of $10,000 per person / $20,000 per family for trip interruption benefits. The sum insured level purchased will be shown in the Confirmation of Insurance issued to you upon enrollment. For trip delay, eligible costs may be reimbursed up to $100 per day, up to a maximum of $1,000 per person / $3,000 per family.

    Coverage is available for a single trip under a Per Trip Plan or for multiple trips during the year under a Multi-Trip Annual Plan.

Coverage may be extended by calling 1-844-200-8959 and requesting an extension before your existing coverage for your trip terminates. Your request may be approved provided you meet the eligibility requirements and no event has occurred that would give rise to a claim under the insurance. If an event has occurred that would give rise to a claim, the extension of your insurance is subject to the approval of the Insurer.
